BiographyFebruary 5, 2010, Beverly Pierce Stroebel went home to be with the Lord.Beverly was born on October 25, 1931 and raised in the southern Minnesota community of Beauford on her parent's farm. She graduated from Mankato State Teacher's College, the same teacher’s college that her mother, aunts, cousins, husband, brother, and sister-in-law attended. After college graduation, she taught home economics at Northfield High School in Minnesota for one year before she married her high school sweetheart, William Stroebel, fifty-five years ago. During their life together, Bev and Bill lived in Alameda CA, Mapleton MN, Chicago IL, Washington D. C., Los Angeles CA, West Germany, Los Angeles CA again, and Sacramento CA. Her daughters, Susan, Carrie and Jane were born in 1957, 1960 and 1966, respectively. Beverly had many interests and accomplishments. As a young girl, she loved sewing and received many accolades for her work. In college, she was the Home Economics Student of the Year. She was a loving and supportive wife and mother. Throughout her life, Beverly was dedicated to the work of the church, serving as an organist, Bible study leader, prayer warrior, program coordinator and Elder. She co-founded “Hearts for Israel,” a non-denominational group dedicated to understanding God's calling to reconcile Jew and Gentiles and supporting Messianic missions and humanitarian aid in Israel. She loved to travel and was fortunate to travel extensively throughout her life, both in the United States and around the world. In the early 1980s, Beverly began writing and never stopped. She was published in church publications, such as The RCA Church Herald and, the year before she died, she published a book, Full Sail. (For more, see http://mayflowerfullsaillogbook.com.) Days before her death, she completed work on another manuscript, 25 years in the making. She is survived by her husband, her three daughters and their husbands, 5 grandchildren ranging from 5 to 18 years old. We, her husband and daughters and families, will miss her tremendously. While we mourn her, we are so grateful for the amazing life she led and the lives she touched with the love of Jesus. We are at peace, knowing she is dancing with angels in heaven now and has joined her brother, Gordon, her mother and father. At this time, we are comforted by words that Beverly wrote herself about her life: "Now I know and testify without doubt, that even before my birth God set a course for my life. He trusted me with a huge thirst and task to understand his Word and to proclaim that it is as relevant today and tomorrow as it was in history’s yesterdays." ====================== A Memorial Service is planned at Christ Community Church on February 12th at 2:00.
