Thomas “Garry” Cassady age 72, died peacefully in Sacramento, Ca on Friday, February 26, 2010.
He was born in East St. Louis, IL on September 25, 1937 to Thomas and Doris (nee Remspecher) Cassady. Garry graduated from East St. Louis Senior High School in 1955 and the University of Missouri in Rolla with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering in January of 1960. He married Phyllis Eversmeyer on February 6, 1960. Garry and Phyllis recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Garry served in the US Army as a First Lieutenant. He then later achieved a Masters degree in Science and Engineering Management at the University of Missouri. He lived in Fairview Heights and Smithton Illinois and worked with Anheuser-Busch until retiring in 2002. Garry and Phyllis then moved to El Dorado Hills, Ca to be close to their children and grandchildren.
Garry will be especially remembered for his sense of humor and attention to detail.
Survivors include his wife Phyllis of El Dorado Hills, CA, daughter Laura Hoisington and her husband Scott of El Dorado Hills, CA, son Charles (Chip) Cassady and his wife Kim of Seattle, WA. Survivors also include sisters, Cheryl (Susie) Tindall and husband Dick, Mary Tojo and husband Hal, brothers Mike Cassady and wife Jean, Rick Cassady and wife Linda, Roger (Rocky) Cassady and wife Rhonda, and Grandchildren Jessica and Benjamin Cassady and Jack and Katie Hoisington, including many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Garry was preceded in death by his father Thomas, mother Doris and stepmother Mary.
A Celebration of Garry’s Life will be held at Our Lady of the Snows, in Belleview Ill. at 442 DeMazenod Drive, Belleville, Illinois 62223. Relatives and friends are welcome to the Celebration from 1:00 pm. to 4:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, Phyllis would like memorial contributions made to Kaiser Permanente Hospice Program, 2025 Morris Avenue, Sacramento, California 95825.
