Dear Family and Friends, Our family is so heartbroken with the loss of our beloved Gary last Thursday. He had been battling pancreatic cancer so bravely for the past year and we had hopes that his new treatment would help him to be with us longer. He died peacefully at home. Although we miss him dearly, we are thankful that he doesn't have to suffer anymore.
We miss Gary's smile and his contagious optimism. He was a perfect husband, a wonderful, loving father, loyal friend, and a driven Napa Auto Parts employee who wanted nothing but to provide a good life for his family. Gary always looked at the bright side of things and even after his diagnosis stayed as positive as he could. He was truly amazing.
Gary and I started our lives together in Chico, CA. We met while I was in college and Gary was working as an outside sales representative in the area for Napa Auto Parts. Soon after we were married, his company transfered us to Sacramento, where we had our first child Kyle in March of 1997. Our next stop was Fresno and there we had our second son Jared in April of 2000. Gary enjoyed working as a sales manager and operations manager while living in Fresno. After 5 years in Fresno, we moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where we had our third child Sarah in 2004. Gary became a General Manager with this move and we were so proud of him. We then moved on to Anchorage, Alaska and then Southern CA. Although it was a whirlwind at times with moving so often, our family has wonderful memories of all of the places we have lived. We feel very fortunate for all of our exciting experiences.
Gary's favorite place to live was Alaska. I am so happy that he got a chance to live there for 2 1/2 years. It was a dream come true for him. He loved fishing, hiking, biking, skiing and sledding. He loved the snow and truly enjoyed the Alaskan way of life. I know he really cherished the memories he had with our children in Alaska. Our children do as well.
I would like to thank everyone for their love, support, and prayers over the past year. They were a great source of comfort and strength for all of us. Thank you for being such an important part of Gary's life. He treasured his family and friends.
