Brenda Joyce Burns

August 15, 1950 - November 27, 2018

Brenda Joyce Burns passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Kaiser Hospital in Roseville, California. She was born on August 15, 1950 to Lark "Pete" and Marchetta (Dennington) Wilson in San Bernardino and was the second youngest of four children. She was a 1968 graduate of Port Hueneme High School. Throughout her life, she embraced people with her generous, caring, fun, and loving spirit. It was impossible not to feel welcomed and loved in her presence, especially in her home. And if you were homeless and crossed paths with her, she would speak with you as a friend and give you the blanket in her car and the $20 bill in her purse. She valued honesty as a virtue and would take her receipt back to a store if she was undercharged, knowing she wouldn't be able to sleep that night until it was made right. Her family brought her the most joy and she was happiest surrounded by them all, sharing a meal, laughing, playing games, and watching a grandchild's play, sport or recital. She was the biggest cheerleader to everyone she loved, always encouraging and lifting up, truly happy when others succeeded. Her hobbies included gardening, decorating her home, coloring intricate sketches, baking, listening to music that made her dance, road trips with her husband, and being an integral part of her grandchildren's daily lives. Most importantly, she had a faith in God that was fiercely unwavering through all of life's challenges and found her strength through prayer and quiet divine moments. She is survived by her husband, Bill, a brother, Rick (Mona) Wilson, a sister, Karen Rierson, a son, Brian (Hannah) Kincaid, two daughters, Bliss (Jerry) Gonsalves and Leanna Hawks; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Mallory, and Maguire Hawks, Callahan and Nolan Kincaid, Avery and Everett Gonsalves; nieces and nephews along with many cousins. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Lark and Marchetta Wilson and a brother, Steve Wilson. Family and friends and others whose lives Brenda touched are invited to attend Brenda's Memorial and Celebration of Life Service on Thursday, December 6th beginning at 11:00 am at Green Valley Mortuary and Funeral Home, 3004 Alexandrite Drive, Rescue, CA 95672.
