Brian N. Keegan
February 5, 1992 - February 28, 2020
Our amazing son Brian Ned Keegan, age 28, passed away unexpectedly February 28, 2020 leaving behind his adoring parents Joan and Tim, his loving brothers and sisters-in-law Tom, Joel, Amanda and Molly, and his little niece, Ellie. He excelled in academics, continuously making the honor roll at Folsom High School as part of the class of 2010, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, with high honors, from UC Davis. He was currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in environmental sciences from CSU Sacramento. Brian was smart, strong and a joy to be around. He relished the challenge and camaraderie of sports and received numerous awards in wrestling and Folsom Cordova Lacrosse. What he lacked in skill he made up for with grit, heart and tenacity. For recreation he played soccer and was coached by his father in the Folsom Youth Basketball Association. Brian volunteered at area hospitals and worked for the State of California Delta Conservancy in Sacramento. He especially enjoyed field work in the delta waterways; performing water quality testing and leading creek cleanups. He was planning to devote his career to water quality and habitat restoration projects. His interests were many; he loved PC gaming with his friends and brothers, traveling the world and just hanging out with friends and family. He followed his hometown Kings, filled out many a March Madness bracket and enjoyed watching tennis and golf majors. An avid student of history and culture, he memorized all the episodes of his favorite shows, quoted movies, watched lectures on CSPAN and read voraciously. As his pub trivia teammates could attest, he was well rounded. Most importantly, Brian was a compassionate, caring, generous and open-hearted person, whose warmth and humor touched everyone lucky enough to know him. His light will be forever missed but its warmth not forgotten. There will be a memorial service in Brian’s honor at 11: 00 on Wednesday, March 11th at Green Valley Mortuary in Folsom. Anyone who would like to share their thoughts and memories of Brian during that time is welcome to do so. Those wishing to make a donation in Brian’s honor are encouraged to donate to the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Corridor Project by clicking on the donate link at yolorcd.org.
