Connie Fetzer

November 10, 1948 - January 19, 2022

November 10, 1948 - January 19, 2022 Connie Fetzer has been set-free from her earthly struggles. She was greeted by her mother and father, and grandparents. No doubt Connie has already petted the first 'real' Hollywood Lassie. She enjoyed original Lassie movies, vocally coaxing Lassie to help Timmy. She loved family, music, and all dogs, alive and stuffed, especially her six stuffed dogs, most named Lassie. Connie had a unique ability to connect with others, to entertain with teasing and humor. She was always up for a trip and enjoyed cruises to Alaska and Mexico. She was most often content to just 'people watch'. Connie loved attending family celebrations with travels to Rhode Island, Colorado, and Texas. She especially loved to dance at weddings. She celebrated the birth of each new great-niece or nephew and could name them all. Connie was blessed with love from family and many supportive caregivers throughout her often difficult life. She is survived by her three brothers and their spouses, Robert (Bobby/Stinker) and Rosanne, Thomas (Tommy) and Stephany, and Mark and Peggy. Connie's nephews Brannon and Dylan, and nieces Brooke, Leigh, Megan and Alex and their children all greatly enjoyed knowing and being entertained by Connie. She is also survived by Aunt Ella Fetzer, cousin Pam Fetzer Vetter, her son Price and wife Amy. Family members honored Connie with fun and endearing nicknames, Connie-Con and Sister Britches. She loved to hear her brothers declare 'Connie Fetzer - you are something else'. Singing 'The Hokey-Pokey' and 'Get Back Jo-Jo' were always part of Sunday afternoon phone visits. Her family is grateful to have visited Connie in her care home on her 73rd birthday in November and at Christmas. Connie's family is forever grateful to her support community. Connie was embraced and loved like family at the Country Mansion residence care home by Diana, John and staff for the past three-plus years. Connie enjoyed her day program at Elk Grove Adult Community Training where Elgena (Cookie) and teachers provided art and other stimulating activities. The family acknowledges gratitude for mental health development guidance and oversight from ALTA California Regional Care, especially Malgorzata Zaglewska, MS. Special thanks to Connie's primary physician, Dr. Sereevinyayut, Kaiser Sacramento-South and numerous doctors, nurses and providers during Connie's ER and hospital stays. Memorial donations may be made to EGACT Elk Grove Adult Community Training http://www.egact.org/donate.php or any no-kill animal shelter of choice.
