Francis "Frank" Baumert

Francis “Frank” Donald Baumert, born November 10, 1934 in Goose Creek, Texas, passed away in the hospital February 23, 2016 in the presence of family. Preceded in death by his wife Ethel Gwen Baumert. He is survived by daughter Janine Herman, son Frank “Rusty” Baumert, daughter Suzanne Clark, 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Frank retired from Chevron Refinery Richmond, California. He held many positions throughout his career including Union Journeyman Electrician, Relief Foreman, and Foreman. Prior to that, he worked at Mare Island in Vallejo, California as an apprentice electrician. Frank was a member of the US Navy where he served on a destroyer during the Korean War. His favorite pastime was to watch or participate in sports. He ran track at Richmond High School, played softball for much of his adult life, officiated local baseball and basketball games, bowled, and became an avid golfer. Frank was a rancher off and on throughout his life and enjoyed horses and raising cattle. He was a member of Demolay as a young man and later became a life member of the Masonic Lodge. There will be a private family graveside service with military honors on March 7th, 11:00am, at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California followed by a no-host luncheon at Bud’s Pub and Grill in Dixon.
