Jan Boguslaw Chodak Obituary (1945 - 2018)

Jan B. Chodak, 73, passed away peacefully in his home June 7, 2018. Jan was born March 28, 1945 in Warsaw Poland, the son of Boguslaw and Ksenia Chodak. He married the former Alicja Sadowski also from Warsaw, Poland in London, England July 4, 1967. Jan graduated from the University of Warsaw with a degree in Chemistry. He followed this with a PhD in Chemistry from UCLA. Early in his career Jan worked for Corning Glass in New York State and was an innovator of photochromic lenses. He was also an early user of computers and computer programming. As a computer engineer he advanced to management in various companies throughout his career. Prior to and post retirement Jan had an interest in real estate. He was involved from investing to the management of properties and even gardening. He had a love of music as well. However, his greatest love was for his family. Jan is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years Alicja; his cherished daughter daughter Lisa Chodak, his precious grandchildren Matthew Aranda and Justine Aranda, and many extended family and friends. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jan's Life at a memorial service Friday June 15, 2018 2-3pm, with a reception following from 3-7pm at Green Valley Mortuary and Cemetery, 3004 Alexandrite Drive, Rescue, CA.
