Kurt Borowski Obituary (1930 - 2016)

Kurt was born in Konigsberg, Germany where he survived a very difficult childhood growing up during WWII. He immigrated to the United States in 1951, coming to the country through Ellis Island, eventually making his way to Lincoln, Nebraska. He became a U.S. citizen and was drafted into the Army in 1952 where he proudly served his country during the Korean War. He met and married his wife Roberta (Bobbie) in Nebraska in 1956; they moved to California shortly thereafter and remained married for more than six decades. Kurt worked as a manufacturing engineer for Aerojet, an aerospace company near Sacramento. Over a career that spanned more than 30 years, he worked on many projects but was most proud of the work he did providing propulsion systems to NASA for the Apollo and space shuttle programs. He retired from Aerojet in 1992. With the help of family and friends, he built his dream home on 10 acres in Rescue where he and Bobbie have lived for 30 years. Kurt is survived by his loving wife Bobbie, sons Pete (Meg), Kurt (Janet), Mark (Lori), six grandchildren, his sister Christel, and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
