Loyd Douglas White

With the heaviest of hearts, we report that Sgt. (ret.) Loyd Douglas White, 74, of the California Highway Patrol has passed away. Loyd was born on March 3rd, 1947, and passed peacefully in the arms of his honey, Patti, on January 14th, 2022. Loyd and Patti lived in El Dorado Hills, California at his time of passing. Loyd served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, primarily in the Vietnamese town of Pleiku. Following his military service, Loyd joined the California Highway Patrol (CHP), graduating from the Academy in 1977. Loyd served in the CHP for 28 honorable years, medically retiring at the rank of Sergeant in December of 2005. Following his retirement, Loyd focused his time on his family and hobbies, surrounded by love. In June of 2021, Loyd was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. It is a comfort to his family knowing that he did not have to go through the bad parts of the disease. Loyd is survived by his wife Patti, his brother Dale, his sons Kevan and John, and his grandchildren Kaylee, JJ, MIJy, and RD.
