Rick A. Villa Obituary (1949 - 2016)

Born January 22, 1949 in Lansing, Michigan and died November 10, 2016 in El Dorado Hills, California. He was the first born of John and Divina Villa of La Puente, California. He is survivied by his loving wife Mindy, sister Victoria Jean Alderman and brother Nick Aquino Villa. He is also survived by one niece, three nephews, six grandnieces and two grand nephews. Rick was a Vietnam War veteran in the U.S. Navy with 6 years of service during two tours of duty. As a graduate of San Francisco State University in Business Administration he went on to pursue a career in banking and ultimately founded a highly successful cleaning service in the greater Sacramento area. He had a passion for collecting coins, stamps, baseball cards, piggy banks, wind up clocks and aluminum cans. He spent countless hours landscaping his yard and nurturing a small grove of Bonsai trees. He was an avid bird watcher, gold panner, and outdoorsman. Rick enjoyed helping people both through his business and tireless volunteerism. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for his clients and associates. He was a 20 year volunteer for the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and worked with Green Valley Community Church to help homeless and at-risk veterans in El Dorado County. His work ethic, loyalty, integrity and easy going nature fostered long-term relationships with all those he encountered. He was dependable, hard working and devoted to his family, clients, and his worthy causes. He will be greatly missed by all that have come to know him. In lieu of flowers and gifts the family requests that donations be made on his behalf to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of El Dorado County or Only Kindness Inc. (Veteran's help organization) 23501 Sky View Terrace, Los Gatos, CA 95305. Funeral Services will be held November 19 at 11:00 A.M. at Lakehills Covenant Church in El Dorado Hills. Lunch and a celebration of life immediately following.
