Teresita Sagcal Countryman Wills Obituary (1950 - 2020)

Teresita "Che" Countryman Wills May 3, 1950 - November 20, 2020 Che was born to Felisa Bernardo and Emeterio Diaz Sagcal near Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija province, Luzon, Philippines on May 3, 1950. She passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on November 20, 2020, at her residence in Greenwood, California doing what she loved most: cooking. She is the fifth child of her six siblings: Rogelio, Rodolfo, Fe, Perla, Samuel, and Lambert. After graduating from high school, she attended Central Colleges of the Philippines (CCP) where she attained a Bachelor of Science in economics. She went on to work for Bechtel Corporation in Manila, and continued to work for them in Jakarta, Indonesia; Bogota, Colombia; and San Francisco, United States. She was married to B. Kenneth Smith in 1974 and had three daughters: Tanya, Kristine, and Sarah-Dawn. After they moved to California, she later married Dwayne Countryman in 1988, with whom she had daughter Courtney, and son Dallen. In 2010 Che was married briefly to Dan Wills and moved to Greenwood in El Dorado County, California. She is survived by all her children, her siblings Rogelio, Samuel, Fe, and many more cousins, nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces. During her seventy years, Che enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, sewing, needlepoint, picking produce and fruit, and excelling at nearly everything she tried her hand at. She spoke several different languages and made friends wherever she went. Her homemade birthday and wedding cakes were unforgettable. She loved to entertain and was happiest cooking gourmet meals and ethnic foods for others. She loved dancing and excelled at several styles including various Polynesian and Ballroom. She was very proud of her children and all their accomplishments. She loved her church and her church family. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and everyone who knew her. Her final resting place will be at the Green Valley Cemetery in El Dorado County, CA. There will be a memorial held via Zoom Friday, December 4th at 10:00am PST.
