Babette Hovey

Babette “Betty” Emma (Rohner) Hovey of Pine Grove, Ca passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, September 16, 2025. Betty was born in San Francisco, CA on October 15, 1937, daughter to the late Christine and Jacob Rohner.

Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She cherished her family and her faith, she found joy in reading, music, theater, bowling and movies—especially Hallmark films.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James (Jim) to whom she was happily married to from January 23, 1960, until his passing on July 30, 2019. Her spirit lives on through her five children, fifteen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. Betty instilled in her family a love of reading and a strong sense of community.

Betty is survived by her brother John (Jack) Rohner and wife Rose, her children and their spouses, son Chris Hovey (Deanna), of Modesto, CA; daughters, Heidi Wright (Chris), , of Castle Rock, CO; Julia Maynard (Mike), of Placerville, CA; Karin Hornbaker (Erik), of Camino, CA; Diane Durham (David), of Brentwood, CA.

Funeral Service will be October 25, 2025, at 11:00am.
