Bob Fortune

Thomas Robert (Bob) Fortune was born August 27, 1938 in Flint, Michigan to
Thomas and Viola Fortune. He was the oldest of their three children.

Bob grew up in Michigan, Indiana, and Southern California. After graduating from
high school, he attended the University of California at Berkeley. While at Cal, he
met the love of his life, Joyce Cobleigh, whom he married soon after. He
graduated from Cal with a BS in Mechanical Engineering.

Bob and Joyce had 3 children: Vicki, Thomas Jr., and Sandi (Rooni). Their families
gave Bob seven wonderful grandchildren (Shawn, Kyle, Blake, Krista, Kelli, Allison,
and Megan).

Bob worked as an engineer at many different companies during his career
including FMC, Peterbilt, Lockheed, TRW, and Northop Grumman. He spent a
large part of his career working as an aerospace engineer.

In his spare time, Bob liked to spend time with his family, coach his children’s
sports teams, visit their cabin in Mi-Wuk Village, go on family road trips and
vacations, garden, go on walks, and go to church.

Bob passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026 at the age of 87. Bob leaves
behind his beloved wife, Joyce, whom he was married to for almost 67 years. He
also leaves behind his two daughters Vicki Chew and Sandi Bodick, his seven
grandchildren, sister Barbara Cauley and brother Stephen Fortune.
