Dorothy Bailey

Dorothy Ellen (Locke) Bailey, 90, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2025 in Modesto, California.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 am Monday at Green Valley Mortuary & Cemetery in Rescue, California.

Dorothy was born June 26, 1935 in Anson, Texas to Hildred and Eunice Locke. She married Jack A. Bailey on August 6, 1953. Jack and Dorothy lived in Hale Center, Texas before moving to Santa Clara, California in the early 1960’s. They were married almost 56 years when Jack passed away in 2009. Dorothy was a nurse the majority of her working career. She retired in 1995 from Santa Clara Valley Medical Center as an operating room technician.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers Bobo & Aubrey Locke, a sister Josie Jones (Locke), and one grandson Jared Bailey. Another sister Ruth Isaacs (Locke) was ill and passed away four days after Dorothy. Her services will be held on the same day in Jacksonville, Texas.

Survivors include Mark Bailey and wife Phyllis of Sparks, Nevada, Tom Bailey and wife Pearl of Peoria, Arizona, Guy Bailey of Modesto, California, one sister, Betty Keenum and husband Tommy of Abilene, Texas, brother in-law Robert Isaacs of Jacksonville, Texas. Dorothy is also survived by four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
