Elizabeth Darwin of El Dorado Hills passed away on Saturday, October 31st, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family, after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her devoted husband of 28 years, Robert, two sons, Christopher Stevens of Roseville and Craig Stevens of Shawnee, Kansas and daughter Heather Fowler of San Jose and Step-sons Dale and Mark Darwin. She also took great joy in her Grandsons Spencer-John, Nathan, Matthew and Trey. And her Granddaughters Kasi, Kourtney and Kayleigh. She was born the 9th of 12 children to Sven Clarence And Cora Rodning on the 18th of October, 1943 in St. Peter, Minnesota. She was Preceded in Death by her parents, brothers Warren and Kenneth and sisters Carolyn and Dorothy. She is survived by her sisters Corrine Johnson and Kristi Scott and Rodning brothers Harold, Dennis, Rodger, Robert and Tom. Prior to her retirement 9 years ago she was employed as an administrative assistant to the head of Information Technology at Intel where she worked nearby at their Folsom Campus for over 17 years. Before that, she left a small town in Minnesota as a single mother, with 3 young children and moved out west to California in 1975. With little more than the clothes on her back she went to work as an entry level secretary at Varian & Associates and over the next 12 years worked her way up to Administrative Assistant to the head of Instrument Group, a division with over 3,700 employees. She was a member of the El Dorado Hills Gardening Club and took great pride in her neatly landscaped yard. She was also well loved for her home cooking and had a special love for entertaining, which included everything from throwing large Holiday parties to taking in "strays" and others far from home. All are welcome to attend Elizabeth's Celebration of Life Memorial Service on Friday, November 13th at 1pm at the Green Valley Mortuary and Cemetery Chapel at 3004 Alexandrite Drive, Rescue, Ca. 95672. A reception for Family and Friends will be held at the family home following the memorial.
