Florence L. (Scott) Grondin, 93, of Eskaton Lodge Cameron Park, CA August 31, 1919 - August 24, 2013 Survived by husband Adam "Lyle" Grondin, age 95, of Cameron Park, CA; brothers, Leonard Scott of Dryden, MI and Clarence (Arlee) Scott of Bradenton, FL; sisters, Ida (Scott) Haimbaugh of Inverness, FL, and Patricia (Scott) (Ed) Klug of Warsaw, IN; children Lyle and Judith (Beckman) Grondin of Cameron Park, CA; James and Barbara (Mannion) Grondin of Auburn Hills, MI; Don Grondin (Wanda) of Thousand Oaks, CA; and daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Farrington of Attica, MI. Also survived by nine grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Florence was a homemaker for most of her married life, and she loved to cook and entertain guests. In the late 1950's, she was one of the original founders of St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Dryden, MI, helping create altar linens and priest vestments for the fledgling church. She cultivated the warmest and most nurturing of environments in her family's Dryden home, and later did the same in their Attica, MI summer cottage and winter home in Bradenton, FL. Florence delighted family and friends with her poetry and paintings. Many of their homes are adorned with her artwork. Her love for her family was passionate and boundless. She was deeply loved and will be deeply missed. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, George and Adele (Bilas) Scott of Birmingham, MI and Dryden, MI; brother George (Sonny) Scott of Birmingham, MI; and son Daniel Grondin. Services for Florence Grondin will be conducted by Green Valley Mortuary in Rescue, CA. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, August 28th at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in El Dorado Hills, CA, followed by cremation. The family requested, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in their name to a favorite charity.
