James Howard Meadows January 7, 1952 - February 11, 2021 James Howard Meadows, 69 of Orangevale, CA, passed away at home on February 11, 2021 after a long, valiant battle with cancer. Born on January 7, 1952 in Red Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, he was the son of Douglas and Alma (Long) Meadows. James was preceded in death by his son, Adam Meadows, his father, Douglas Meadows, and his brothers Jerry and Clifton Meadows. James is survived by his wife, Linda, of 44 years, his daughter, Amber Durgin and husband James, his son, Alexander Meadows, his three grandsons, Elijah, Isaac, and Everett Durgin, his mother, Alma Sloan, his stepfather, Judson Sloan, his brother, Douglas Wayne Meadows, his sisters Sandy Holsonback and Teresa Johnson, as well as loving uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. A veteran of the United States Army, James served in Panama in the 36th Explosive Ordinance Disposal Company. James had a love for his country and one way he expressed that love was through providing meals and support to the homeless. James was strong physically, but his inner strength shone even brighter than his outer strength when helping others. He was an entrepreneur at heart, and he built and ran his own business with innovative ideas that helped him to succeed at all he tried. He enjoyed riding his Harley, singalongs with friends, camping with his wife, Linda, acting in plays and musicals with his daughter, Amber, go-cart racing with his son, Adam, being the number one fan of his musical, artistic, and digitally talented son, Alex, and playing with his three grandsons. His sense of humor, talent for teasing, outspoken nature, silly voices and stories, spontaneous singing, mischievous eye twinkle, and fierce love for friends and family will be missed immeasurably. James loved well and was well loved. We will honor and celebrate James' life at a later date. Family and friends will be notified of the details. James' belief in Jesus gives us peace that we will see him again one day. Until then, we will continue loving him to the moon, back, and beyond.
