Jane was born in 1921 in Sauk Center, Minnesota. She was a Cameron Park resident and died on November 3, 2011 from a sudden onset illness. She was fortunate to celebrate her 90th birthday earlier in the year. She was so joyful to have her entire family present along with many of her friends from her writing club and the local Senior Citizens group. She married Marvin Ellering after WWII ended and he returned from the Pacific. His older brother Jerome describes their love as one he used for a model for counseling. She affectionately called Marvin, "Arf" and he called her his "Anie". Jane had 6 children, 12 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren, whom she dearly loved and who cherished her. To Jordan, she was his "Grandma Cookie." She had amazing artistic abilities and shared those talents with art projects with the grandchildren. During her 40's she was involved with art projects for the NCO Wives Club at Hickam AFB (and served as President for 1 year), with the Catholic Sodality Woman's group, and taught pre-school for several years. She actively wrote poetry, short stories and children's stories with her El Dorado Sr. Citizen's writing group. Throughout her life, her gifts of special poetry to fit the occasion for each of her children, grandchildren and friends, will always be cherished. Throughout her life she shared her love for traveling with her husband and family, throughout the USA, up to Oregon, Canada, and back and forth to Minnesota to visit family annually. She had a gift to be uplifting and to listen. Jane's poem: A tiny cloud angel came down from the sky. Folded its arms round, so you didn't die. It held you there close, to show you her love, Then settled back to her cloud up above. She missed her daughter Susan Carol throughout her life and always felt she was her little angel in heaven. She always said that Susie had become our guardian angel when she passed away to protect and guide the rest of her children. Mom will be greatly missed.
