John Stephen Laszlo, age 87, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving daughters, on January 2, 2020 in Cameron Park, California. John was a caring husband and father. His good nature and joyful laugh will be greatly missed. John is survived by his two daughters, Lisa Ann Bruce (husband Robert Trent Bruce) of El Dorado Hills, California and Marianne Laszlo Dilworth (husband Andrew Ives Dilworth) of San Leandro, California, and his son Edward Stephen Daugherty (wife Sherry Lynn Daugherty) of Philippi, West Virginia. He was a dear grandfather to John Robert Bruce (wife Claire Elizabeth Bruce), Amanda Louise Matchell (husband Kenton Douglas Matchell), Matthew Alexander Bruce (fianc?e Stefania Mirka Consarino), Ryan David Dilworth and Katherine Ellen Dilworth, and a great-grandfather to Bennett Douglas Matchell. John is predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Virginia Blanch Laszlo, his parents, Mary and Frank Laszlo, siblings, and his son, William John Laszlo. John will be remembered as a kind, skillful, hard working, and adventurous man. He was born on August 17, 1932 in Painesville, Ohio. A veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, John traveled the world before settling with his dear wife Virginia in San Leandro, California. Known for his ability to fix anything, he managed his own television repair business. He earned his pilot license, and was often seen flying his Cessna plane with friends around the greater San Francisco Bay Area. John also loved horses, hunting, and spending time with his family along Highway 88 in the Sierra Foothills. Family will be celebrating his life in a small private ceremony on the 21st of August.
