Marguerite Mary Davlin passed away peacefully in Sacramento County Friday, September 2, 2016. Marguerite was the fourth child of Charles and Eileen O'Connor. She was born in San Francisco and moved to Fairfax with her family when she was four years old. She rode with her grandmother in a Model T, holding a birdcage. She attended St. Anselm's elementary and high school. Marguerite raised her children in Fairfax and moved to Sonoma County in 1978 and then to El Dorado County in 2006. Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Michael, sons Patrick and Thomas, daughter Kathleen, sister Patricia, and brothers Raymond and Charles. She is survived by her children Eileen (David), Michael (Betty) and James (Nancy), 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, sister Mary, and many nieces and nephews. Marguerite had several occupations during her lifetime. The last and most rewarding was working as a psych tech at Sonoma Developmental Center until her retirement. Marguerite loved holidays and enjoyed celebrating them with her family. She also shared her husband's love of football and for many years she held season tickets to the Cal Bears which she shared with family and friends. She rarely missed going to watch one of her husband's high school football teams play or one of her sons' high school football games. She enjoyed a good game of pinochle with her children and grandchildren and travelling with her family and friends. She visited Ireland, England, Alaska, Mexico, and toured the United States. She loved playing tennis, playing the piano, and sitting in the sun watching her children and grandchildren play in her pool. Her favorite treat was ice cream and she never turned down an invitation to go out for a hot-fudge sundae. A funeral mass will be Tuesday, September 27th at 11:30 at Saint James Church in Petaluma. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Petaluma Kitchen/COTS, POB 2744, Petaluma, CA 94952, to the Alzheimer's Association, or to your favorite charity.
