Surrounded by a wave of love from his family, Paul Michael Kuzmich, Sr., passed away peacefully at home on May 2, 2021, after a three and a half years long battle with cancer. Born in Sacramento, California on May 26, 1939, Paul was a lifelong resident of the greater Sacramento area. Beloved husband of 55 years to wife Jean, father to children Paul Jr. (Shannon), Kristine (Steve), and Peter (Shayne), deeda to granddaughters Caitlyn, Christina, Violet, and Iris, brother of Tom and Joe, uncle to many nieces and nephews, great uncle to many more great nieces and nephews, and trusted friend. Paul attended Sacred Heart Elementary School, Christian Brothers High School, and St. Mary's College. Paul served honorably in the US Navy, deployed to Vietnam on the USS Oriskany. Paul was a man of deep faith and member of Holy Trinity Parish Church in El Dorado Hills. Paul and his wife have lived in El Dorado Hills since 1972 and raised their three children there. He loved his children unconditionally and was active in their lives, serving as coach of their Little League and basketball teams. Many a summer was spent as a family at the cabin at 30 Milestone on the South Fork of the American River in Kyburz that Paul purchased for his family in 1969. Paul also instilled in his children his passion for the San Francisco Giants and 49ers. Paul's professional career was as a mortgage broker. His personal passions included gardening, barbecuing, golfing, fishing, duck hunting, and the stock market. He loved a good meal and a glass of red wine. Paul had a wickedly dry sense of humor. He could also come across as a bit grumpy and gruff, but the truth of the matter was that he was a big soft teddy bear with a huge heart. He loved and was loved deeply. He is our family's Forever Giant All Star. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 11:00am at Holy Trinity Parish Church, 3111 Tierra De Dios Drive, El Dorado Hills.
