Rescue, California
With deep sorrow and devotion, we announce the passing of Smt. Savitri Devi Parihar, beloved wife of Lt. Shri Manak Lal Parihar (Retired Additional Chief Engineer, PHED, Rajasthan Government), on December 28, 2025, at her home in El Dorado Hills, California, USA—peacefully, and surrounded by her loving family and grandchildren.
She was born on June 11, 1940, in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India, as the eldest child of Lt. Shri Nemi Chand Rakhecha and Lt. Smt. Sunder Devi Rakhecha.
Smt. Savitri Devi lived a life deeply rooted in faith, simplicity, and seva (selfless service). She devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family, caring with love and devotion for her husband, children, and elders including her mother-in-law, father-in-law and father with remarkable resilience and dignity. Though petite in stature, she was the unwavering pillar of the family, meeting every challenge with courage and grace. During the most difficult years of her husband’s illness, she quietly bore immense responsibility so that her sons’ education abroad would remain uninterrupted—a profound reflection of her selflessness, inner strength, and lifelong habit of placing others before herself.
She found joy in life’s simple blessings—reading Hindi literature for hours, nurturing plants and gardens, meditating, and spending time close to nature. Her compassion, humility, and readiness to help anyone in need touched the lives of all who knew her.
She is lovingly remembered and survived by her three sons—Praveen, Naveen, and Arvind; one sister—Pushpa Devi Tak; three daughters-in-law; six grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and relatives who deeply mourn her loss.
In the spirit of the Bhagavad Gita (2.20):
“The soul is never born, nor does it ever die; it is eternal and cannot be destroyed when the body is destroyed.”
May her soul attain sadgati and eternal peace. We take comfort in knowing that her love, values, and gentle presence will continue to guide and bless us always.
Om Shanti.
