Shiri Krishan passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November, 17, 2020 at 12:41 PM at the young age of 70 while on a road trip with his eldest son in Phoenix, Arizona. Shiri is survived by his wife Kala Wati, eldest son Prakash, daughter Jotika, youngest son Kumar, and granddaughter Prisha. Shiri was born in Qereqere Naitasiri, province Viti Levu Fiji on September 8, 1950 to Ram Govind and Suruj Kumari. He studied at the University of South Pacific in Suva, Fiji . After graduating he taught at Swami Shraddhanand Memorial School and Bhawani Dayal High School for several years, and then changed his profession and became an architect. While working as an architect in Suva City he met his wife Kala and they were married in 1982, and he respectively welcomed his three children, who were an extremely important part of his life. Shiri was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, a musician and seeker of knowledge. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, hiking and going on several road trips with his family throughout the years. He absolutely loved spending time with his family. He was a deeply spiritual man and devout Hindu. He was well known at several mandirs and temples in the East Bay. He was an amazing singer and loved singing Hindu hymns; he played several instruments which included the dholak, harmonium (pump organ), tabala, mandolin and banjo, amongst others. Shiri Krishan was a kind and loving soul and will be deeply missed by family, friends and all who knew him.
